~ The Second Krethárn War ~ - Part I - Progress - 80 % complete ~ Scenarios ~ The Siege of Prethonia - 85 % complete The Feud between two Kingdoms - 45 % complete ~ Features ~ * A unique style of gameplay that offers the most compelling experience and realism for a siege scenario ever witnessed in the Blacksmith. * An epic battle pitting over one hundred Dragon warriors against three thousand Krethárn troops. * A gameplay that is engrossingly challenging and above all else requires strategy and the well placement of your troops to defeat your enemy. * Able to bottleneck the enemy waves of advance to neutralise their numerically superior number of troops. * A dark, intensifying and chilling atmosphere with gameplay that is both bloody and intense. * A vast winter landscape that is realistic and full of detail. * A detailed fortress with many strategic and defendable positions. * In-depth story and characters alike. * Nearly sixty custom sounds. * Three difficulty settings ( Standard, Moderate & Hard ) that each provide ample challenge for most, if not all players. * A morale system whereby you lose or gain morale according to the circumstances of the battle. If you lose an important figure in the Erertiyan army, the men under his command will lose morale. In return your men may gain morale if the enemy suffers massive casualties. * Little lag on a 256mb ram computer. Virtually no lag on anything above. * An immersing cut-scene to bring the story forward and into the following sequel, 'Tears of the Dragon'. As a side note, ~ Part II ~ The Night of Long Tears - 40 % complete The Siege of Argeron - 10 % complete The Halls of Hilûn - 5 % complete

I'm sure I'm going to like this when it comes out On another note, if you decide to make a thread with more secrets and stuff, please make it in the "members only" forum. I can move this thread there if you'd like.

Hey Basse, no thanks. This has no secrets. ;-) But future projects, such as cut-scenes etc I will be sure to post in the members only forum.

Sixty custom sounds might be a boost in megabytes, but nothing can stop me from downloading this.

Cheers, Andan and Julius. Yeah, unfortunately around 15mb. What can I say? That frigan cut-scene just wantes to get bigger. I reckon I'll post the music in a different file anyway.

As long as it doesn't need Renaissance, I'll be happy to wait my computer downloads it. Wait... does it require Renaissance??

Yeah, sounds are a bugger. They make the scenario soo much more enjoyable, but they increase the size somewhat shocking, especially if you want them to at least have some sort of quality. But this is sounding really good Mashek! Can't wait to see a new cut-scene from you.

Thanks, lol. No, it doesn't need any kind of enhancement or mod. It's good enough. Anyway I appreciate your willingness to wait. Most people seem to reckon they have no time for anything these days. Cheers, Vonnie. Yeah sounds are the biggest bugger, but I reckon one of the highlights of designing is choosing the soundtrack for it.

ADOC currently has 32 megabyte of music and soundeffects. Mostly music from various movies such as The Rock, Backdraft, Pirates of the Caribbean and so on. Lots of Zimmer-work, yes I'll probably cut it down by using fewer soundtracks for each scenario, although some are neccesary.

Why don't we just put the sound files and soundtracks in a separate place, for instance, the Utilities section? Is it allowed?

It's an idea, but I don't know if Tanneur would allow it. What would be an idea is to have a seperate online file host, and then place a link to those files in the description of your submission. I believe this has been done before, but the tricky part is findingn a good host so you don't have to keep changing the links around.

I seem to remember once hearing Tanneur would set aside space.
Alternatively, do we have any storage space tucked away here?

Personally, I don't really trust online file-hosting websites. Sometimes they don't work the way they're supposed to be. So, we ought to have some storage space here. Is that possible?

Hmm, indeed. I reckon it would be best to have some kind of 'safer' storage space for keeping music. It would be nice to know if we have any here.

Unfortunately we don't have any space here that I'm aware of. There was some talk quite a while ago about DGDN lending some space for hosting files, but I doubt that would ever happen and I wouldn't know how to go about it.
Personally I have 60MB (probably not enough?) of webspace with my ISP, and I have hosted some items there, such as those taunts. I'm willing to put any files there (if you want), though the only trouble is that I would have to keep on with this ISP indefinitely, and while I am indeed rather happy, I can't give any guarantees.

Okay, fair enough Vonnie (hope you don't mind me calling you that?). I'll probably just have all the sound files with the campaign file when I release. It will be a strain on people's dial up connections, but tough, they're just going to have to learn how to adapt - like using other people's computers.

In Western civilastion only 0.000037% of internet connections are dial-up now anyway. And those are only in museums or kept on for scientific research. EDIT: And 'Vonnie' has got to be better than 'Corgie V'.

Haha that's fine Mashek, call me what you want...within reason. Have to agree there! I've actually been keeping a record somewhere of the different spellings I've seen of this name, but at least most people have no trouble with the 'Von-' part.

Not to worry, if you were walking through the dockyards of Hull you'd be more than happy to swap them for the beautiful, untouched Indonesian islands. If the photos are anything to go by anyway (I've never been there myself).

Correction -- "The beautiful, untouched teeny-weeny part of Indonesian islands." The green here had turned gray, mostly.

Maybe, but when you're in Hull anywhere that isn't an absolute tip of rusted cranes and freight containers is paradise.

Most of the dockyards here would be worse than that, I believe. Never mind that. The topic is defying from the thread's actual purpose, way too far. Sorry, Mashek!

I'm certain they won't, as long as they see your name as owner of the thread. ;D Well, good luck on TSKW anyway. The faster you finish it, the better. The sooner people get to know that you're with SWS, the sooner they'll get to consider the team as one of the best. Haha... being quite narcissistic, aren't we.
