I just finished watching 12 Angry Men, and, despite containing only one set and being from 1957 (?), I was impressed how they managed to make 88 minutes of jury discussion quite interesting. Since it was in black and white, it had that great nostalgic feeling. Post any recent movies you have seen.

I've heard about that film, heard that it was very good too, but I haven't watched it. Yet. I will some day!

I recently saw a German film called 'The Lives of Others', whereby members of the Stasi in East Germany were monitoring various artists to see if they were doing anything illegal (e.g. speaking against East German government). In all an enjoyable film, interesting to see how the Stasi works but also to see one of its members grow attached to the family he is monitoring. Reminiscent of "Equilibrium" with Christian Bale.

Basse: It may sound like a bad concept on paper, but really is worth watching at least once.
Mashek: By monitoring, you mean something similar to phone tapping?

Yes, but also putting microphones all over the house so that not even the bedroom is safe, if you know what I mean. There's actually a very good scene toward the end when the occupant of the house, a famous East German writer, discovers the microphones and starts pulling hundreds of linked wires from his walls. They literally run all through the house.

I'll go watch The Last Airbender when it comes out over here, so that I can review it and rant about it.

I recently watched Twelve Angry Men. I thought it was rather good, although I'm sure it had more punch when it was released, given that attitudes to race have changed so much.

Three years later and I still haven't watched it.
