I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I would like a 'Front Page' for Stormwind or something. I mean, should the website always start on the forums? Something like an introductory page instead of the login? Again, I don't know if this is even possible, but it's just a suggestion.

It's not possible within the limits of Proboards, but we certainly should have a real front page. I remember debating this last autumn, getting the answer that it was under constructions, slowly, thanks to all the schoolwork Swordsworn had. But nothing has happend

I think this is a good idea definitely with many merits, but how would we work it? Would it be best to just have the one page in which we could include links to the forum, and other downloads etc? Along with information about the team of course. I don't know if any of you have ever visited militia mouse's web page eleven11design.blogspot.com/ but then again that's more of a blog, which I would prefer avoid. Ok for individuals, but IMHO not for a team. As for the login page, unfortunately I don't really think there is a way to get rid of that (like Basse pointed out) within the bounds of proboards or even alter it for that matter.

Well, looks like there's no way for SWS to earn itself an individual front page, as long as it's sticking with proboards. But it's not harmful I guess, at least for the time being, as long as we remain a small and low-profiled design team. However, as for what Turty mentioned about 'introductory page', maybe we can just post an article here at the forums, accessible to every guests, which contains a speech introducing the team itself, the history, the vision, et cetera.

Or maybe a page that has a link to this place. I think that would work nice.

I could make one with Freewebs. It'd look okey and we could have a link from there to the forums, as well as a history section and a downloads section where we link and add info about our downloadable projects.

That sounds nice. Just a simple page which acts as a bridge connecting to all the important articles is more than enough. Then what are you waiting for, Basse? Get on with it! By the way, Miltia Mouse sure has some interesting pics there in his blog. Loved the waterfall between mountains. Looks super realistic.

Are... are you sure? That is kind of exactly what happened to Phillip and his Elite Designs. And that wasn't exactly an unqualified success.

You can do some really nice sites with freewebs, although they're very limited. I could make a test version and we'll see if you accept it. Well we wont be spreading the words of our super special awesome Freewebs main page through a quadrillion threads at AoKH, wont we?

Alright, done. If approved, I'll make an article or two for presentation and use. We'll then use the main page for articles on new releases and projects etc. www.freewebs.com/stormwindtest/And I'll change the adresse to www.stormwindstudios.webb.se (or another free server) if that's OK with you all.

Hm. It's not bad as such, but it's not exactly wonderful. You didn't make the same gratuitous crimes against taste and good design as King Phillip and his team did, but it's not very eye-catching either, and it'll definitely need to be more substantial. Also, I don't understand why it's so low down on the page. But maybe I'm being too perfectionist, what does everyone else think?

That's much thanks to the advertising in the top, but also that the skin's made that way. I tried picking a suiting one and this was the most all-round good one I could find

I think it's nice enough for the time being. A small design team doesn't really need a site that makes the visitors go "wow". Besides, at least we have this good-looking forums.
However, the banner could've been better if it's bigger (like the one we have here), and doesn't appear in grayscale. And personally, I think the name "Stormwind" shouldn't be represented by the color white.

The banner doesn't get bigger with that skin. I could change the skin, but it's hard to find one that really fits.
EDIT: Like this one better? Also added something to the 'Abou SWS' part.

That page looks pretty good Basse. What do people reckon about having some links to works created by members of the team somwhere on that site. Any thoughts?

It's a good effort. You can include An Unseasonal Tale, I intended it to be a SWS project.
