Does this look familiar? ;D I talked to PaulC about a year ago for some reason, and we started talking about stuff. He mentioned one of his old unfinished games, Where the Shadows Lie, and was nice enough to direct me to a copy (I had to ask Basse for it, as Paul's copy was deleted ). I've only played about half of the game (maybe a bit less), and it's quite fun, despite the walking. Very nostalgic at times, and a lot of the Fixed Force has me going. One thing to note, though, are the amount of bugs; sometimes the AI decides to be stupid and try to attack you below a cliff, sometimes you have to use robin hood, sometimes things change ownership for no reason. I don't think he would mind if I shared it with everyone here.

PaulC was still around in 2009? I remember contacting him by email in '06 and not really seeing him around much since then. Nice chap.

I remember his name when I was looking at the previous CSC screenshots.

I don't remember him being online since back in 2006. Which is a shame as he was a nice chap, and a good designer too. I believe his Where The Shadows Lie was the first scenario I ever playtested.
We should drag him back to AoKH and invite him to SWS. ;D

I tried that. He does have a deviantART account and still writes poetry, if anyone is interested. Also, I have never completed The Quest.

Apokalypse or some such. By Daftpanzer.
There was an incredible number of lame characters in that.

Ah, but the entire premise was based on a completely implausible situation!

That has nothing to do with it. People could still have come up with better characters. Instead we had a dozen warlords and Dantares. There were a handful that were good though.

It's a shame there was only one episode, it had some good potential. I especially liked Turty's mayor running away and abdnoning his people.

Aye, it is. By the way, does anyone have the zip folder with all the original files of that game? I was hoping to watch it again, but I'm missing all of the sounds. (The only reason I have the picture was because I extracted the scen for my own pleasure. )

I think I still have them. Or I'm quite sure actually, I never delete anything.

This forum needs its own downloads section. Is it possible to use Wordpress to upload miscellaneous files?

Unfortunately not, but we could have links to Box.com downloads, with presentations at WordPress. But for now, teh fielz; www.box.net/shared/3af69jnchl

No idea. But I will randomly take a stab at Life of A Mercenary, because I remember it had islands.
