I was wondering...does anyone here actually play anything other than AoK? Consoles, Steam, etc.

Occasionally I play other strategy games like Europa Universalis, but my favourite series besides AoE is definitely Fable. In the past few weeks I played both Fable II and II for the 4th and 3rd time respectively, this time completing every quest, even the minutious ones requiring you to find and shoot 50 hidden garden gnomes scattered across the world or collect 30 hidden flowers in the desert. Other than that I sometimes play shitty games for a let's play series that a friend and I make. That's about it, though.

Odd, one would assume if you love Fable to that extent there might be one or two other RPG's you'd be at least mildy into. I've been playing Dark Souls 2, just about finished it, then I'm going back to play the first one. I also recently finished the Banner Saga 2 (which, if you guys never played the first, I highly, Highly recommend).

I have Civ V, which oddly enough I won in a contest at AoKH. It's a fairly terrifying time-sink. I'm pretty bad at it though and by and large my preference is to use a country which has some super unit and then spam those to wreck the AI's endless armies.

I play the NHL series on PS4 with a lot of my ice hockey teammates and friends from home/college. It's fun and easy to do when hanging out with people in my house or dorm room, and the fact that a game only takes 15 minutes means that it's great when you're short on time or want a quick study break, or when you want everyone to get a fair number of reps in. Online play has never appealed to me.
As for PC games, I play Civ 3, Civ 4, and Age of Mythology every once in a while. Aside from AoM I haven't opened any of those in over a year, though. Aside from the summer holiday the instances where I have time to devote to gaming are few and far between, and usually get spent on AoK.

There probably are, but I haven't really felt compelled to try out any of them yet. I have Skyrim installed on my computer after winning it in a contest at AoKH, but I don't think I've ever started playing it.

Have a decent end PC and PS4.
Been onto the Total War: Warhammer lately, which is fantastic. Great fantasy setting.
The Metro Redux and Half Life series are among my very favourite of all time.
Oh, and then there's this ancient game I play called Age of Kings! Quite addictive, to say the least.

Interesting.
I have to say, the more fantastic games become, the less interest I can muster for scenario design. The editor is so very limited when it comes to showing emotion and just any sort of storytelling in general. Too often I get a scenario idea that excites me, and I'll begin realizing it, only to take a break to play a new AAA game and be disheartened by the medium that is AoK.
This leaves me basically thinking the only scenarios worth making are small RTS experiences, because as good as Ulio is, it's really only good for the medium it was made in. Then again, it could just be that I've lost a lot of my passion for the editor, idk.

I think that's just it. You have to keep your expectations and ideas grounded to the confines of what AoK is. I too often get caught up wishing for an AoK remake with the kind of graphics I'd like to see etc, but nope we're stuck with a 1999 game.

...and....loving it. The only other console I've ever had besides the PC is an Xbox (original), but sold it after about 12 months. Just didn't use it. I'm pretty old-school when it comes to entertainment. Here's a few that I can think of, not necessarily in order of preference: 1. Quest for Glory - So You Want to be a Hero 19892. Knights of Honor 3. X-Wing Alliance 1999 4. Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2001 5. Commandos - Behind Enemy Lines 1998 6. Command and Conquer - Red Alert 1996 7. Star Wars Jedi Academy 2003 8. Battlefield 1942 2002 9. Robin Hood - Conquests of the Longbow 10. Caesar III A few RTS, a few RPG, a few First Person. But yeah, haven't really had to upgrade my computer for about 12 years ...

A lot of old games there von! Although in many ways it was the golden age of gaming for a lot of us. I still remember with great fondness playing the '64 with my brothers, games such as Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. Playing those games now and you don't realise just how terrible the graphics were back then. Crazy you never seemed to realise that at the time. I thought it looked great. I also have good memories of playing Halo for the first time when the original Xbox console came out. It was fun and refreshing, if not borrowing many cliches from other genres. The Tom Clancy Ghost Recon series were always big on me. I think I've clocked most of them right up until Advanced Warfighter but then seemingly forgot about the series for the last several years lol. After that I got stuck on this PC.
