I wonder if you guys can help me with a little problem.
I have placed a number of villagers for a player in the hope that they will stay still, which should work as they have the immobile units AI. However, for some arcane reason, they all choose to bugger off halfway across the map to where their town centre is and start chopping down every tree in sight.
Does anyone know about this bug, and how to fix it?

I recall having villagers placed down with Immobile Units and they tried cutting down everything. Apparently, the problem was that I had trees over their lumber camp. I don't know if that is the problem, but try taking all of the vegetation away from any lumber camps/town centers.

That may indeed have been the problem, they had a town center with a tree on it.
Solutions I tried included:
Re-education via killing them repeatedly with monkey boys Loop tasking away all the wood they chop to discourage them Bribing them with a big stockpile of wood
None of this worked. Eventually I deleted all their town centres and lumber camps, and this did (finally) succeed. I worked it out that when you place the normal town centre (first one in the list) and have a tree on it, they go crazy. Removing the trees or changing the town centre to one of the ones lower down in the list with the same appearance (which is what I did) fixes the problem.

That's an interesting bug. Good to hear you managed to fix it though.
