Well this is an idea I just had. Seeing that the 'blacksmith feature' has more or less died out and the changes in the review guide are taking so long, why not set up an unofficial 'review feature' to which all can contribute. I think it will be successful.
IMO the reason why it is difficult to make these kinds of changes at Aokh is that there are very few staff unlike 5 yrs ago and the few remaining are lazy/against changing things.
So let's try this. The objective of this is to provide a downloader an idea of what's there in the scenario/whatever and also provide some feedback to the author.
Reviews should be written in freeform style, consisting of at least 2 paragraphs and at least 1 screenshot. There should also be a rating given, from 1-5 with 0.1 accuracy. There should be a link to the blacksmith submission as well. You can't review your own files (obviously).
If this works out here, we can take it to Aokh.

I'll start Grand Theft Horse - Trazeng by MadasteBlacksmith LinkRating: 3.4 'Grand Theft Horse' is a scenario which simulates a modern day city with Aok units. This isn't a very easy thing to do, but the author manages it fairly well. You play as Guy Josselyne, who is wandering around in the city looking for things to do and avoiding the police. The major problem with the playability in this scenario are the winning conditions: kill 250 or accumulate 10000 gold, both of which take far too long, but are not particularly difficult, which means that the player easily gets bored. On the other hand, there are a lot of interesting and creative things in this scenario, such as the 'soul saver card' which lands you in prison instead of dying, the options to bribe the police, rob a bank and the 'police heat', ie the police will try harder to catch you if you commit more crimes and after a while you can't bribe them, and a 'surprise' if you collect the bonus flags. Another problem. is the massively spawning villagers after a while block up all the gates and you can't get anywhere. Also it makes easy killing if you stand near the spawn spots and kill villes as they arrive. Most of all the scenario engages you with it's awesome background music and sounds. There are alarm sounds when you rob a bank, police speaking on their walkie talkies, etc. and is why the 'modern day theme in aok setting' is implemented well. The storyline is short and appropriate for the scenario, cops fighting mafia in a big city and the 'International killing money' giving you money when you kill people. The story is not 'epic' and not meant to be, it is light hearted. However the scenario could have done with more odd-jobs and sidequests here and there that you expect in these 'big city' scenarios. Overall: A good scenario and worth trying out.

Why, hell, Jatayu. If everyone gets some things up for a scenario or two, perhaps I can even post them as news posts at AoKH?

Well, everyone should contribute a bit and then we'll see. The idea is to make it a continuing tradition, not a one time or two time posts.

Indeed, but no one person wants to write for an infinite amount of scenarios, which is why, for now, anyone willing should each prepare two scenarios so we'll have several to start off with.

Great idea, but if we're to take this to AoKH, where would it be placed?

Hopefully the news; If everyone gets some things up for a scenario or two, perhaps I can even post them as news posts at AoKH? I'll write some posts, probably using some of my reviews as base.

The Ruler (Age of Chivalry) by KorBlacksmith LinkRating: 4.6 "He kidnapped my wife. Killed my dog and priest. Conquered my father-in-law and burnt down his town. Wiped out my army. Now he's sitting with his feet up in my manor. But I'll get him yet!" That's just one possible storyline in Kor's newly released campaign for Age of Chivalry, the Ruler (a.k.a. The Custom of Wales). In this scenario, which uses the modpack to good effect, you are placed in the shoes of a young Welsh lord learning how to run his estate as he goes along. As the seasons pass by, complete with sound effects, you will join him as he appoints a steward to assist him, chooses a sutiable wife and does whatever needed to prove himself worthy of her, raises taxes and armies, clears the roads of brigands and wages war against his neighbours. Just under one in-game year is playable in this simulation, although with the many different routes arising from the choices you will make this is no short-coming. You must make wise decisions and manage your troops with skill if you are to avoid the storyline above; while nothing you choose to do can kill you out-right it can definitely make life very difficult for you. If you are to get the full experience from this game, I recommend you see everything and try out every path. Whether your steward betrays you or helps you recapture your estate, whether your wife lives or dies, and whether your army is on top or fighting for survival, is all down to you. While no one storyline is great in its own right, the detail and variety available really stands out. Overall: Unfinished, but still entertaining and well made.

As a suggestion, maybe we should do a few of our fellow team-mates' scenarios? No harm in giving ourselves a little extra publicity if these eventually get made into newsposts.
I'll happily do Atlantis and Liegnitz.

I think we should keep it to new scenarios. At least at first.
I will do one for 'Kami Wars' and 'Spirit of the Kingdom', both excellent campaigns.
In fact it is quite rare for so many good campaigns/scenarios to be submitted lately. New stuff which is good:
# The Kami Wars # Fall of the Empire # The Ruler # Four in one mod # The Spirit of the Kingdom # ~Son Against Father~

Since the review guidelines have been changed, why not give 'proper' reviews? I myself will, in a short while.
